The new product described herein is a holder for a drywall sanding sponge. The invention discloses a holder incorporating locking tabs used to lock the removable side wall into a compressing state upon the sanding block. To release compression on the sponge, the tab is simply pushed inward and the removable side wall is then pulled out.

Objects of the present invention:
- to provide a holder for a drywall sanding block with sides that extend beyond the holder
- to provide a holder for a drywall sanding block comprising mating holder arms
- to provide a holder for a drywall sanding block having spikes depending therefrom that engage the sanding block
- to provide a holder for a drywall sanding block having mating locking elements on opposing holder members
- to provide a holder having a pole receptacle that is pivotal longitudinally
